1. BC's junior chess web site (http://juniorchess.ca) is going into the 4th year (possibly the last year).
Volunteers are sought to take over and maintain this site. With 80,000 unique visitors from 135 countries in the last two years, this commercial-free junior site (with zero downtime in the last 3 years) has been No. 1 on google's search list around the world.  It has reached its goal as to vitalize junior chess in BC, with the help from many volunteers.
Please send an e-mail to this account for details if you are interested. You should be able to maintain the site on your own web server. Potential webmasters involved with BC junior chess (e.g. parent volunteers) will be given priority.

1. Five BC players and many more Washington players played in the annual North American Open in Las Vegas (Dec. 26-29). The event has been rated:

BC junior Jingzhou (Peter) Lai went to Tacoma to join Washington Challenger's Cup (Dec. 29-30) with  a score of 2.5/5.0 in Reserves. This is Peter's first US tournament. Harley Greninger won the game/10 playoff to qualify for the Washington Championship. Greninger tied with David Bragg, Mike MacGregor and Nhon Do with 3 out of 4 points in the open section.
